Two 5-inch Stems Rotala Rotundifolia Red.
This aquarium plant has long stems with thin round leaves on the sides. Develops an intense red colorization when fertilized and supplemented with iron.
This fast growing plant is an excellent background plant. It can be densely planted into substrate (about half an inch apart) to make a forest of red and green in your tank. Rotalia clumps (once grown in) provide hiding places for shy fish to explore and having that cover to retreat into, helps shy fish feel bolder.
The stems sold are cuttings Which may or may not have rooted. They should be planted at least a half inch into the substrate and at least half an inch apart. Keep tank parameters stable. Rapid changes in water parameters can cause melt.
In ideal conditions, this is a fast growing plant and does not need to be purchased in large quantities. Two stems in a well cared for 10 gallon tank should need to be trimmed and the trimmings re-planted within a month. Then the four stems should need to be trimmed and the trimmings re-planted a month later... and so on.
