Two  5-inche stems of aquatic Hornwort. Long thin stems with fine-needled, forked and toothed leaves that whorl around the stem along all sides giving the plant a feathery or bushy-tail appearance. 
 
Hornwort (also known as Coontail) must be grown submerged completely in water. This plant prefers to be allowed to float freely and can form thick mats that are ideal as protective nursey habitat for fry and young shrimp, or for use as a spawning mop for breeding fish. Also great for oxygenating the water column.
 
The ends of the stems can be weighted and planted but they may unroot themselves or or the planted sectionay rot so that the rest of the plant can float away.
 
Hornwort is very fast growing and must be trimmed regularly to not only control its growth but prevent the lower or older growth from becomming leggy, thinned, and brown. Can be grown in tropical and cold freshwater aquariums. So, it can be used in goldfish and Koi propagation.

USDA Cold Hardiness Zone: 4 through 11 for wildlife ponds and patio containers.
